The problem is the emotions from stress often manifest physically. Stress finds the “weak link” in your body which may come out in the form of headaches, tension and pains in the neck and back, stomach upset, insomnia, elevated blood pressure and much more. Chiropractic treatment can help your body handle the physical side of stress when you can’t simply remove the things that are causing you stress.
When spinal bones of the neck and upper back lose their normal position or motion, sensitive joint surfaces as well as nerves and blood vessels to the head can be irritated. Connective tissues like muscles, tendons and ligaments can also refer pain sensation into the head. Trauma, prolonged sitting, sleeping in poor positions, stress, and toxins are but a few causes of cervicogenic headaches.
While the occupants may suffer significant injury, the car may be only slightly damaged. A variety of symptoms may develop including neck pian and loss of motion, headache, shoulder and arm pain and numbness, TMJ or jaw pain, dizziness and vertigo, pain in the lower and mid back. Symptoms can even be delayed for days simply due to the large amount of adrenallin produced by the body from this stressful event.
Since discs have poor blood and nerve supply they may or may not produce much pain and are slow to heal. Most common causes are repetetive trauma from over-exertion and lifting or acute trauma. A disc bulge can take years to develop then suddenly the symptoms appear.
Symptoms can be pain, numbness and tingling, and significant leg and foot weakness. The symptoms may manifest anywhere from the buttock region to the entire leg and foot. Causes include vertebral malposition, inflammation around the nerve root, degenerative joint disease (arthritis) and disc bulges.
Early complaints such as colic, poor appetite, unexplained crying may be from nervous system dysfunction due to malfunction of the spine. They can’t tell you why! Follow that with starting to lift that heavy head, crawling, taking those first steps and falling constantly, sports and other activities as they mature – kids are rough on themselves!
Chiropractic adjustment techniques are modified to fit a child’s size, weight and spinal problems. Parents commonly report that their children seem healthier than other kids their age.

Treatments
Chiropractic
Is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health.
Doctors of Chiropractic practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as to provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counseling.
Acupuncture
Is a system of medicine that encourages the body to promote natural healing and improve function. Channels of energy, or Qi, run in regular patterns through the body and over its surface. Achieving the proper flow of qi promotes health and wellness. An imbalance of qi (too much, too little, or blocked flow) causes disease. To restore balance to the qi, an acupuncturist inserts needles at points along these channels.
The modern scientific explanation is that needling the acupuncture points stimulates the nervous system to release chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These chemicals will either change the experience of pain, or trigger the release of other chemicals and hormones which influence the body’s own internal regulating system.
The improved energy and biochemical balance produced by acupuncture results in stimulating the body’s natural healing abilities, and in promoting physical and emotional well-being.
Myofascial Release
Is a soft tissue therapy for the treatment of skeletal muscle immobility and pain. This treatment aims to release tension in the fascia due to trauma, posture, or inflammation. Connective tissues called fascia surround the muscles, bones, nerves, and organs of the body. Points of restriction in the fascia can place a great deal of pressure on nerves and muscles causing chronic pain. Myofascial release relaxes contracted muscles, improves blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulates the stretch reflex in muscles.
Moxibustion
Is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of Ai Ye or mugwort to facilitate healing. Moxibustion has been used for thousands of years to strengthen the blood, stimulate the flow of qi, and maintain general health.
Moxibustion has successfully been used to turn breech babies into a normal head-down position prior to childbirth. A landmark study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 1998 found that up to 75% of women presenting with breech presentations before childbirth had fetuses that rotated to the head down position after receiving moxibustion.
Cupping Therapy
Is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created on the skin; this mobilizes blood flow in order to promote healing and relaxation. It promotes healing of Respiratory and Digestive deceases, Pain Syndromes, Gynecological Disorders, and symptoms such as the Common Cold and Insomnia.
